Leaving a household
You can leave a household at any time. Before you go, HouseTally asks one thing: what should happen to the receipts you already shared?
How to leave
- Go to Settings → Household.
- Choose to leave the household.
- On the confirmation screen, pick what happens to your shared receipts (below), then confirm.
You'll see You left the household. once it's done.
Two options — read the labels carefully
This one trips people up, so it's worth a close look: the option that keeps your receipts shared is called Leave, and the option that pulls them all back is called Quit.
Leave
Keep your shared receipts in the household — the household keeps the shared history you contributed. You still own those receipts and keep seeing them in your personal view.
Quit
Remove your receipts from the household — they revert to personal, so only you can see them again.
What stays yours either way
Leaving never deletes anything. You keep ownership of every receipt regardless of which option you pick — the only difference is whether the household can still see the ones you'd shared.
Leave keeps your shared receipts with the household. Quit takes them all back to private. Choose based on what you want the others to keep seeing after you're gone.
